During your first visit we like to perform a comprehensive examination. At the beginning of your visit we will ask you to complete a medical and dental history form. We want to make sure we have everything we need to thoroughly understand your dental needs.

At the end of your appointment, we will discuss our findings with you and prepare your customized treatment plan. We will discuss your treatment options, any associated risks and treatment costs so you are educated to make the decision that suits you best.

Scale & Clean

A scale and clean involves the removal of tartar (calculus) from the tooth surfaces by special dental instruments. Plaque, a soft, sticky film containing bacteria which build up on teeth, can be removed by normal brushing.

However, if plaque is not removed, it hardens to become tartar, and if left untreated, it will damage healthy teeth and gums, and can cause tooth decay, gum disease, supporting bone loss leading ultimately to tooth loss.

It is recommended to have an examination and teeth cleaning of your gums and teeth every six months.
